Okay y'all! The exciting news is finally here!I've had the amazing opportunity to reach out and get the dish on some workout/health tips from top notch fitness bloggers located around the world! I will be posting some "interview" questions that I asked some bloggers along with their answers. You will find out some healthy recipes, workouts, motivation, and more!Along with these things, you will find the true purpose behind their blogs and let me tell you, they are beyond inspiring!Without further ado, here is our FIRST feature!Introducing, Cassidy! What is your name and what is the name of your blog and/or Instagram?
My name is Cassidy Wendell. The name of my blog is The Wellness Rookie and you can find it on my website at cassidywendell.com. My instagram is @cassidywendell_
What made you decide to create a blog/Instagram?I wanted to create a presence on social media to help women stop viewing exercise as punishment and food as intimidating. I wanted to show how you can live a healthy, balanced lifestyle and still enjoy the occasional cocktail or cookie without feeling guilty or deprived. My goal of my blog & instagram is to give women the rookie advice they need from the wellness expert they can relate to. I've been there and know what it's like to feel lost and defeated. I don't want others to go through the same thing.
What is one health/nutrition tip that has stuck with you throughout your journey? My number one nutrition tip would have to be: don't listen to the BS that's out there, listen to your body. The only expert on your health & fitness is YOU.
What is something or who is someone that keeps you motivated? My father. He is the reason I changed the course of my life and chose to become a personal trainer and health coach. Nearly two years ago, my dad passed away from some serious health complications. He was always extremely good at taking care of his friends, family and even strangers, but horrible at taking care of himself. He always taught me the importance of striving to be the absolute best version of yourself by making the people around you better. After he passed away, I realized the importance of one's own health and wellness and how that can directly impact the people around you. He is my own motivation and why I want to help as many people as I possibly can prevent a problem, rather than react to one.
Would you mind sharing one of your favorite workouts or recipes? Here is one of my favorite recipes that I have ever made! My Peanut Butta Fudge Cups are a guiltless sweet treat that will save you time and your waistline while giving you a good dose of healthy fats in the process....And talk about a sweet tooth cure:http://www.cassidywendell.com/eats/2015/10/12/peanut-butta-fudge-cups
Do you have any extra advice to Fun and Sun Without the Buns readers?Don't forget to have fun with your health & wellness. It's okay to feel like a rookie and it's okay to feel like a pro when it comes to working out or eating right. Once you trust the process, everything will fall into place. It's not going to be perfect 100% of the time, but that's half the fun ;)Thanks so much, Cassidy! You have truly inspired me to keep going. Your compassion is so motivating! Y'all, be sure to check out her site along with her social media accounts.I hope you all have a great weekend!XOXO,Callie
