Piko - BOO!

Happy Wednesday y'all!

With the weather becoming cooler, the leaves finally changing colors, and the scarves are now okay to bring out, then this top is a must have for me! I am always wearing simple shirts and pairing them with scarves, vests, and more. I love the color of this specific Piko. I'm already picturing it with a utility vest or jacket paired with my ripped denim skinnies. Cute Closet Boutique has this top in multiple colors and I'd agree that it's hard to own just one! It's comfy, the perfect length for my long legs, and lightweight! How would you pair this top? I'd love to know your ideas!

Classroom Update!

Come see what we are up to lately in my classroom! We've been working hard on our punch lists and truly learning how to own our learning.

Here are just a few things that we've been doing daily that keep us all engaged, on task, showing leadership, achieving goals, and much more!

Below you will see an example of what we do for "Scottie Scoot" and what we work on in math.

Scottie Scoot is 30 minutes of intervention time. For the kids who are not being pulled for groups, they are able to scan the QR code provided and choose from the list of activities. When they are done, they fill out a super quick Google Form that is a follow-up from what they chose.

Next is an example of what we do every single day in Math (and Science): PUNCH LISTS! I had a lot of people ask me about them from my last classroom post, so here ya go! These pictures are snip-its from their Google Classroom portion. They have a paper copy of a check list that goes along with the slides (I posted it below the Google Slides). Each slide has an activity that goes with what they are learning. Videos are usually me giving mini lessons that they follow along with, and each video has problems at the end that the students have to solve. I also have a fun multiplication scavenger hunt with QR codes at the end of this certain punch list which isn't shown. I will have to post the kids in action and post it on my Twitter account!

How do I grade the punch lists? Here's the paper copy that the students receive! It's front/back and super easy to grade! They simply fill in their goal, what they will be learning about, follow the check list with the Google Slides, and answer the back! My job is to fill in the grades and provide feedback.

Here's how I manage it. Depending on what they are learning about, the amount of time for each punch list varies. This specific one will only take a week. To prevent a line forming at my desk for grading, I have a "Punch List Wait List." The students write their name on the board and I will call their name when ready. While they wait, they continue working. Also, to make sure they get their assignments done in time, I set a goal for how many assignments they should try to get done each day. If they meet the goal, they earn what is written in the top right of the board for the last 15 minutes of class (I have a different theme for each day of the week).

As always, thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to share more with you soon! :)

P.S. Punch lists really do work. Cassi Noack and I started doing them last year and they were a success! Yes it takes prep, a lot of trust, but I can't even imagine teaching how I used to anymore!

You Can't Go Wrong With Cheetah & Mustard

I had to share this adorable look with you because it's one that I am obsessing over right now. Is it just me or is cheetah print a neutral? I swear I could wear it with anything! Also, this mustard top is the softest top I own! I've linked the exact ones below.

I hope you all have a great weekend! And if you are a Houstonian, are you ready for the cooler weather that's coming next week?! I know I am!!

Oh, and I am preparing a blog post with an update on my classroom for Monday morning. Can't wait to share with you what's been working so well in my classroom lately! :)

My New Fitness Goal!

Top: Target // Leggings: Lululemon (on sale!)

I'm writing today to share with you my new fitness goal! Ready...

If you know me, I am NOT a runner. If I make it to half a mile without stopping, I feel like I've done 3 miles.

I'm telling you, this is going to be a challenge. My friend, Vanessa, is the one who will be training with me (yes, she talked me into it! Haha!). We plan to do a half marathon! So far, I've succeed to run 1-2 miles without stopping, but it hasn't been easy!

Okay, so here's where I'm going to need your help!

1. What half marathon should we do? We both live in the Houston area, but we don't mind venturing out!
2. What running shoes do you suggest?

Below, I've attached a variety of shoes that have sparked my interest, but I honestly don't even know which ones are good for long distance running. I'm hoping to get some help!

Well, that's all for now! I will be keeping you posted with this new fitness journey! I'm nervous, but I love working towards goals! Have a great day!

Marley Lilly Reversible Vest

Vest: Marley Lilly // White Top: Sideline Sass (Similar one here) // Shoes: Jack Rogers (similar ones in black here) // Jeans: J.Crew Factory (Similar ones here) // Lipstick: Faint For Fuchsia

This cute, REVERSIBLE vest is beyond me. The fit is great, it comes in multiple colors and plaid patterns, and it's currently on sale! How cute would this vest be for a Christmas card? Also, my school's colors are plaid so I can't wait to sport this cutie on plaid days in the winter!

Also, I'm excited to announce what my next workout goal is. It's nothing huge, but to me it is definitely going to be a challenge! I will also be needing your help picking out certain gear for my fitness challenge! Can't wait to share the news with you TOMORROW.

Happy Saturday!

This Sweater + This Hat = LOVE

Top: Sideline Sass Boutique // Jeans: J.Crew Factory // Hat: Target // Purse: Marley Lilly / Shoes: Target // Eyelashes: Pefect Lash Houston

The best part? It's affordable! As you may have noticed, I am not your typical blogger. Personally, I cannot afford half of the handbags, shoes, and clothing that most bloggers do! I envy their styles, but that's totally okay! I feel like the styles I own are more reasonable, relatable to my readers, and manageable for my day job! Ha!

This sweater is perfect for casual outings, layering, and styling so many different ways. How cute would it look with a top-bun? Clearly, the ways you can style this sweater are limitless! And this hat! Ahhh! This is my first Fall hat purchase and I have to say, I'm glad I bought it. I actually bought it in in black too! Alright, I'm off to get ready for another school day! Happy Wednesday!

How would you style this sweater? I'd love to know!
