Is This Real Life?

So... I know it has been quite some time since I've last posted and let's just say A LOT has changed over these past few months!

I think in my last post (or maybe the one before that) I mentioned that I was trying out for the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. Well, I did. My goal was to make it past Round 1. Well, I did that. Then I continued on to Round 2, then 3, and then crazily I was selected as a Top 50 Finalist. Let me mention that this was my first time trying out and I hadn't stepped foot on a dance team since high school (actually, I literally only danced for four years).

Okay, let's fast-forward to last week.

I'm standing on an island. Yes, an Puerto Rico. Surrounded by women that I can say are becoming some of my best friends. At a calendar shoot. The Houston Texans Cheerleaders calendar shoot. Is this real life?

Now I'm back... sitting at my computer in overwhelmed shock... Still.

How did I get in this position?

Simple, prayer. I didn't pray to make it. Not at all. I simply prayed that God would use me somehow throughout the tryout experience. Obviously, if I were to make it then I knew He wanted to use me in some sort of way on the team and in the community, and if I didn't make it then clearly I was going to be used in another way. Well, I made it. Shocked? Yes. Proud? Yes. Excited to see where He uses me during this experience? Definitely.

I'm so fortunate to be in this position, but that won't stop me from continuing to pray and serve Him! I pray He uses each of us in some way! And I know whatever the outcome, it will be great. Thanks to His doings and trust!

With all of that being said, I have to say that I am so beyond blessed to have such a supportive husband to motivate and encourage me through this, along with a loving family that 100% supports me! Also, I can’t thank God enough for the strong sisterhood and coach that the Houston Texans has provided me with. It truly makes me want to cry just thinking about how grateful I am for all of these people in my life! What a rewarding feeling!
Okay, sappiness rant is over (for now). Here are a few things you can expect and look forward to seeing on the blog:
