I Don't Count Calories

Hey y'all! Cheers to being halfway through the week!

A lot of sources say that we should have a recommended calorie intake for our bodies, but I have to say that I don't quite agree.

Of course, I don't eat a whopping 3,000 calories per day... But I also don't stress about how little or more calories I have at each meal.

EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT. Yes, everybody is different, but clearly everybody's body is different too.

Do not stress about calories!!

It doesn't hurt to look up the "recommended" calorie intake for you, but don't forget to consider the following:
-your daily activity
-your weight
-your age
-your height
-your personal health/fitness goals

There's a lot more to just eating within a certain amount of calories if you want to lose weight.

Yes. You will lose weight if you eat less, but will your body really thank you for everything it's consuming or not consuming?

So now, here's what I recommend:

There should be no limit on how much fruits or vegetables you eat daily. Fruits and vegetables are so natural, so healthy, and so full of benefits that won't weigh you down.

Eat the recommended serving sizes of whole wheat breads, pastas, and brown rice. Also, it's best to stick to these at the beginning to the middle of the day. Try to avoid eating these at night!

Protein... Lean protein! Skinless boneless chicken breasts, egg whites, and turkey. These are recommended at each meal!

Fish... Salmon, shrimp, etc. These are also good protein options.

Dairy... Stick to skim - 1% milk. Less cheese, and try Greek yogurt.

Sweets... Dark chocolate occasionally, honey and vanilla extract are yummy in Greek yogurt. Also, fruit is a great dessert option.

Packaged foods and snacks... Try to avoid these as much as possible. Check the ingredients. 1-6 ingredients are key. Also, avoid if you can't read an ingredient.

So don't stress over every tiny little calorie! Try to stay within serving sizes for some foods.

You're body will thank you for the natural nutrients. You won't starve. You won't have headaches. And you will have so much more energy! Never limit yourself on the healthy goodness of natural foods! :)

Hope you find this information useful and helpful! Have a great rest of your week! :)

And I thought I would share a picture with y'all of Justin, Lily, and me in front of our new home! Thanks Hannah for capturing this picture!

  2. LOVE this post! I don't like to count calories either. If you eat right but also don't deprive yourself, you'll have a healthy balance.
